Retired, Yet Glorifying God's Name in Ministry!....

Charles (Bud) has had a marvelous life of music ministry and has now retired. Thirty-five wonderful years of serving the Lord at Cliff Temple Baptist Church in Dallas, Texas and having so much fun with friends there, Charles' (Bud's) retirement life felt empty of something.....ministry! Charles (Bud) decided to assist other music ministers in our area around Somerville, Texas as they needed to be away from their churches and choirs for relaxation, conferences, etc.. In this ministry, Charles (Bud) ministered at the First Baptist Church of Wharton, Texas, some 85 miles from Somerville. The church pastor and wife, Mack and Jayne Mathis, were warm and obviously so in love with the Lord and His work at the church that we immediately knew we wanted to maintain a relationship with them. Yet, God had designs for us that we knew not of at the time. In God's timing, the church asked Charles (Bud) to prayerfully consider becoming their permanent part-time Minister of Music! After seeking God's heart, we felt the First Baptist Church of Wharton was the place our ministry would continue. On, Sunday, August 19, 2007, we joined the church and Charles (Bud) became Minister of Music! When in the area on a Sunday morning, please do stop in to the church and join us in worship! Your hearts will be blessed by the worship music and the instruction from the Word of God by our gifted pastor, Mack Mathis! We love it!
